The Architectural Review Board (ARB) exists so that Forest Lakes can remain a special place to live. Anyone wishing to make external changes to their property must, by law, meet the Resident Guidelines and submit an application before initiating work. Examples of changes include, but are not limited to, significant landscaping; tree removal; fences; sheds; color changes of siding, doors, or shutters; and home additions. If you have questions on whether your project needs ARB approval, please call the Association office at 973-4596. The integrity and beauty of surrounding neighborhoods is maintained by adhering to the policies of the ARB. Thanks for your cooperation!
The ARB consists of the following resident volunteers:
THE ARB PROCESS
1. Read the Resident Guidelines
The FLCA Resident Guidelines, as well as other legally binding documents, are provided to homeowners prior to closing on a house. Please read the guidelines and application requirements carefully before submitting your application.
2. Submit an Application
Submit your application, along with a plat or site plan with dimensions and other supporting documentation to the FLCA office.
3. ARB Review
The Board will review your application and perform an on-site inspection. You will be contacted if the ARB has questions or if there are problems with your request.
Note – the ARB enforces Forest Lakes guidelines. But it is up to you to make sure you meet Albemarle County permit requirements.
4. Approval or Disapproval
You will be notified via mail of the approval or disapproval of your request. If you have questions about the disposition, please contact the ARB Chair, Carmine Covais, email@example.com.
